The pro-Prop 8 campaign’s website made a BIG deal of the possibility that any pro-Prop 8er’s yard sign might be stolen, exhorting Prop 8 supporters to be hardcore about getting any perpetrator(s) charged and prosecuted. They were clearly trying to whip up animosity against anti-Prop 8 people.

Remember Timothy, it is only a criminal act that should be fully investigated and prosecuted by the local constable when OUR side does it, if the rightwingers/bigots/theocrats do something it is free speech/religious liberty/obeying God’s laws not Man’s. Or some such BS.

If Home Depot’s policy were harming their employees in any way I’d have sympathy for the employees. As it is it’s a policy of inclusiveness and tolerance.

And I also sincerely doubt the policy is having an effect on business. From the sound of it a few employees are behaving childishly and a few managers are being yelled at by people with nothing better to do.

The employee who complained to AFA was probably the one who tore it down, I’d bet money on that. My aunt works for Home Depot as a supervisor and, though Conservative, is not religious. It’s fairly rare that they get any religious nuts working at the one she works at so they do stand out.

At the casino where I work, tearing down notices or posters is considered destruction of company/tribal property and cause for termination on the spot.

I’d have to ask my aunt, but I would imagine Home Depot has a similar rule.
