		<description>Jim - thanks always for The Daily Agenda. It&#039;s so important for us all to be aware of the amazing lives and efforts of the giants on whose shoulders we stand. Maybe you could provide some perspective on Truscott IV (since he comes across rather badly in your post).  I believe he has for some time been a strong advocate for gay rights, and I came across some 1992 DADT testimony by his father that surprised me (link below). It&#039;s quite progressive for a military officer in 1992.

		<description>The slurs in the Voice articles contrast with the more or less sympathetic reporting, especially from Truscott. I wonder if tossing in an occasional &quot;fag&quot; was a sort of macho posturing to avoid being called gay themselves.</description>
