His email solicited contributions specifically for the Maine initiative campaign. If he makes any expenditures, he will have to register a PAC and disclose the donors. I doubt that he will spend very much of what he takes in. To date, the entirety of the Public Advocate's contributions to Maine and Minnesota have been $0 and the entirety of its contributions to WA have totaled $250. It is pretty obvious that he siphons off a lot of anti-gay money. In that regard, I consider the Public Advocate to be a net benefit for gay people. He just made a big mistake. According to Eugene, whoever raises more money during a campaign automatically wins... regardless of how people actually feel about an issue. Plus, according to Eugene, if you "wear out" the public year after year (or in this case, a mind-boggling two times over a four year period), they'll vote for your side because they just can't take any more badgering. Yeah, that happens all the time. Oh, and according to Eugene, once you vote on any issue, no one can ever vote on that issue again. Because that's exactly how our government works. Right, Eugene? The best part is how he's already trying to dismiss the real possibility that the public would willingly vote to allow gay couples to marry. That's impossible, according to Eugene. They've obviously been overpowered by the wealthy Homosexual Lobby. Of course, Eugene didn't explain how people are being forced to vote for homosexual "marriage" against their will. But I'm sure if you give him $10, his next mailer will explain it in detail. Right, Eugene?
