"My staff and I have calculated . . . . "

In my memory, this is the first reference he has EVER made to "staff." And he makes it at such a truly odd and inauspicious time. There's got to be a psychological term for this.

This statement by Delgaudio is simply galling: "The SPLC made their name and fortune through frivolous lawsuits exclusively against conservative organizations."

It is jaw-droppingly offensive because it implies that Delgaudio is saying the KKK and other violent, racially-motivated hate groups are merely "conservative organizations", and it is either willfully ignorant or intentionally misleading about how the SPLC operates. The SPLC works pro-bo (an anathema to Delgaudio, no doubt) and all damages it receives on behalf of its clients go to the clients or their designee. The SPLC is supported 100% by grants and donations.

I still think Delgaudio is probably the least dangerous anti-gay crusader. His organization does nothing but raise money to line Delgaudio's pockets. It's always been obvious he's nothing but a con man, but now it's very clear the man has no moral or ethical center. He's been caught stealing (the photograph that got him sued in the first place) and misappropriating public funds (using county employees to do political campaigning and fundraising). But this aligning himself with the KKK (I don't know how else one could interpret his criticism of the SPLC) takes things into a very dark territory where I don't think it's possible to dismiss him as a harmless flim-flam artist any longer. He's either a cretin, vastly unqualified for the trust his donors and constituents have placed in him, or he is a monster who wishes to subjugate, expatriate, or exterminate those different from himself. He's probably the former, In fact, at one time I thought he might simply be using religious homophobia and heterosexism as a convenient wedge to drive between sheeple and their money. This may even still be true. But the depths to which he is willing to sink, and the unconscionable rhetoric he is willing to employ, show he is either one of the worst of bigots or pathologically narcissistic and greedy, and maybe both.

So I stopped reading. Will it work? Please?
