Speaking of marriage equality (which nobody was, but allow me) I came across an excellent op-ed about marriage equality (and its impact on children) – first link below – just in case you had not seen it. Thought you would like to read it and maybe pass it on. Nothing sexy, just an authoritative, reasoned demolition of the ‘protect the children’ argument that the NOMers toss around in their tv ads. The second link is to the article on thinkprogress that pointed me to the op-ed in the first place. (I read thinkprogress but usually find it too tendentious to rely upon.)

Wonderful to see the recognition for the Daughters of Bilitis. One correction, though: The GLBT Historical Society, which preserves the archives of the organization, is located in San Francisco. The DOB records are part of the collection donated by Phyllis Lyon Del Martin: http://www.oac.cdlib.org/findaid/ark:/13030/kt9w100781/.

In addition, readers of Box Turtle Bulletin might be interested to know that The GLBT History Museum in San Francisco's Castro District includes a display about Martin and Lyon. For more information on the museum and the GLBT Historical Society: www.glbthistory.org.
