@Timothy – right, I missed that it was pulled as explained by Schneider’s ‘Note.’ But there is the new article which appears to take Kyle Wood’s account at face value. Have you been able to locate any sort of investigative article from an unbiased source?

Actually the JS writer pulled the story, having reservations. He took some time to follow up and apparently his concerns were allayed so he posted the most recent article.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel online published a follow-up article/interview on 10/28 by the same author of the original J-S article, Christian Schneider (who blogs for National Review Online and J-S Online). The one clarification made in the second posting was that Wood had not, as previously reported, spoken to the FBI.

Otherwise, the article looks to me like an attempt to keep the pot boiling until the election.

“Wood said he’s trying to understand how things in this bitterly divided state have turned so violent and why representatives who have been so outspoken about violence targeting members of the gay community have kept silence about reports of his assault.”

“I find their lack of response maybe not unexpected but lacking decorum,” he said. “I don’t look for a response from either of them, but from a political standpoint that’s what this race will come down to: do you want to elect someone who is going represent the entire 2nd District or do you want to elect someone who will pick and choose who they want to represent? That’s what their lack of a statement is telling me, that I’m no longer a person to be represented.”

Hmmm….sounds like this is just a stunt to me
