Pocan and/or Frank should continue the slander suit against Wood, not because of any remuneration that they might receive but to clear their name — publicly.

Clearly, Wood has mental issues and will hopefully seek treatment and counseling.

I’ve no idea if this was orchestrated but to me it is a repeat of the ACORN, Planned Parenthood, and similar attacks. The TeaParty/GOP has set up a counter-reality, reinforced by its mouthpiece, Fox News, that is counter-factual and includes some well-worn morality tales: Democrats are evil. Gays are evil. Gay Democrats are especially evil and dangerous.

This false story feeds into that narrative and no amount of correction – in the unlikely event Fox News ever corrects itself – will remove this evil Gay Democrat beats poor downtrodden Republican story from the Republican canon.

It is even less reassuring when the “leader” of the TeaParty/GOP (not Limbaugh or Beck) lies, then reinforces the lies when he’s caught lying. Latest example, “100% of Jeep production is moving from North America to China”.

yeah, certainly, Timothy didn’t pooh pooh anyone, but posted three stories on the same issue, all the while never having any sceptical remarks himself, until he had to.

The above quote is a bunch of whooey. This will only make him a further star in the Republican Party. These are the creds most admired by the Republican Party. Mr. Wood will now zoom to the top of the Republican Party leadership. They now know for sure that he has the characteristics that make the finest Republican leader. What’s next? A backward B on his cheek?

Robert, Timothy just wanted to present a teachable moment about how both sides are capable of acts of extreme violence, perpetuated in the height of the political season, and how we should reflect on how, at our core, we’re all really alike, and how our condemnations of malice and viciousness by the right, especially the self-hating gay right, can cause real physical harm.

The fact that it was an obvious fraud that turned out to be politically motivated by a privileged white christian in an attempt to ‘other’ his opponent has nothing to do with the lesson Timothy wanted to teach us.

Why can’t we understand that we’re just as horrible as people who commit fraud and in the process, openly mock victims of real violence?

Why can’t we understand his lesson?

As I suspected. Many of the statements and the circumstances changed fro story to story, but some believed despite those alterations of the story (T.K??).

And when do we, who suspected such an outcome, get an apology for all the written bs in response to our suspicions?

This entire thing was about more than just an election. Many of the published stories, and one that was outright pulled on the 25th, were anti-hate crime legislation screeds.

Kincaid says there are no winners here and I disagree. The TRUTH won out here, and that is what some of us were waiting for, the TRUTH. It also goes to show to what extent the Right Wing gays, like this man, La Salva and his ilk will go to to combat the idea of Hate Crimes legislation.

On it’s surface it was just a story about political subterfuge, while at it’s core it was another attempt to belittle the needed Hate Crimes Legislation.

I think someone else owes the community an apology, but I’m sure all we will see is another long line of reasons why he shouldn’t.

And NOW can you take all the other stories off the permanant side bar? Do they really belong there in the first place?
