MCB,

No, Americans did not plant the idea that homosexuals are a threat to children. That one doesn’t need to be “planted”, it seems to grow quite rapidly in most any soil all on its own. Also not “planted” is the idea that homosexuality is “unAfrican”.

These ideas are evil (and ridiculous). But they need not be part of the “blame America for everything” mantra.

What is true is that some conservative American evangelicals have encouraged and hyped anti-gay sentiments. And the following ideas truly CAN be blamed on Americans:

* ex-gay ministries
* gays are Nazis
* gays caused Rwanda massacre

And should there ever be a movement in the United States to go from church to church playing gay porn and saying that gays “eat da poo-poo”, then we can in turn blame that on Ugandans.

It has more pressing concerns, but they don’t care about that. I am sure if they could blame LGBT for a drought they would. The sad part is that those that most desperately need the aid would be hurt by cutting it and those in power would not be affected. So, I did not clearly state my idea in that last point. I don’t want to see those that are innocent or desperate suffer. I just wish there was a way to only affect those that are strongly pushing for this genocidal legislation.

Lord_Byron, as someone whose sister-in-law spent six months working as a nurse in Uganda with little children struggling to survive, hoping that those people lose government aid is despicable. Hope instead that the government of Uganda realizes it has far more pressing concerns than the supposed “threat” of homosexuals to children… an idea which *Americans* planted there.

Well, I hope Uganda suffers from the lose of aid to the country. Who knows, maybe they can pray to god and he will help them out. The Christian god sure has a good track record when it comes to africa as a whole.

When will people learn? Witch hunts aren’t good for anybody. They usually provide an excuse for people to get rid of neighbors they don’t like or those who are in the way of them gaining power. Didn’t anyone pay attention to the “Pastor Wars” of a couple of years ago where preachers were trying to accuse their rivals of being gay? If this thing passes, there will be an explosion of people accusing others of being gay…and I’d bet you money that most of the accused will not be. A lot of people will die because of these idiot demagogues. People need to grow the hell up.
