And yet, almost routinely, he proves that his association with Naziism taught him nothing at all about naming devils. He says that he "resisted" Naziism as a youth, and I do believe that he did. I just don't believe that his reasons then were the reasons he'd have me believe today--because if they were his true reasons, he'd be a very different Pope than he is, and he wouldn't be holding hands with that woman. I don't expect a 14- and 16-year-old boy to KNOW much about the poisons that his elders believe, and I can forgive that. But when that boy has had 70 years (!) to absorb and reflect on what those poisons will do to others, and yet he behaves as if he'd never looked seriously at the lessons, I can't forgive that.
