I believe that dead people should be spoken of in the manner they spoke of others while alive.

If Bork wanted to be spoken of kindly, he wouldn’t have been so outstandingly horrible. It’s not an expression of cowardice, it’s actually the Golden Rule.

OK, so Robert Bork is dead. That’s pretty much a function of time and our physical make-up. Am I sorry he’s dead? To be honest, I don’t care one way or the other: I didn’t know him personally, so I have no personal sense of loss, but I suspect I am thankful that he didn’t have the opportunity to have more influence on my life than he did, which was none.

Even the U.S. Senate does something right from time to time. Or it used to.

Oh Aurac, I’ve been called worse things in my life.

Bork was a disgusting person with crappy morals and a hatred towards lots and lots of people who weren’t just like him. I’m not glad he is dead, but he deserves whatever names people choose to call him.
