The inventors assume that people are familiar with the light produced by a kerosene lamp - which is nowhere near that produced by 60W incandescent bulb. The light would work as advertised - it would produce approximately 30 minutes of light at near the same intensity as a kerosene lamp, which is not a lot by Western standards, but is still sufficient for simple tasks like reading. This is about the same intensity of light as several clasp lamps sold to illuminate the original Amazon Kindle in bed at night.
