It will be more than 100. It doesn't take too much for them to bus in some people from Bishop Jackson's church and a few other conservative churches in MD and VA. I think 1,000-1,500 is more likely. That would be comparable to what they put together in NYC after SSM passed in NY state.

Bose: But didn't SCOTUS actually expand the case's potential? Walker had a broad ruling, and the 9th circuit narrowed it to be about solely the circumstances of the case. I think I got the impression that SCOTUS taking the appeal at shows they may be looking at it from a broader perspective then the 9th. So who knows....

I think its possible for them to bring out a decent crowd. DC is a big metro area, and you can easily imagine them getting at least some buy in from local churches and religious schools. Plenty of kids would take an opportunity to have the day off of school for a field trip on a nice spring day. Seems as if alot of NOM people have deep connections with the same folks who organize the March for Life. That would be a pretty size-able network to tap.

Lindoro -- they don't recognize irony: it's not in the Catechism.

They'll wind up bussing people in from rural Virginia and Pennsylvania, and they'll use photos from old Obama rallies in their press releases. Business as usual.

Jeremy Hooped from Good As You points out in <a href="http://www.goodasyou.org/good_as_you/2013/01/nom-creates-another-logo-that-totally-looks-like-a-gay-matchmaking-site.html" rel="nofollow">this interesting post</a> that the logo looks too much like a gay matching site, with the 2 Ms linked together. The irony must escape them.

In the midst of NOM's repeated losses -- not just with voters -- but losses of credibility when insisting that they would win, this makes no sense to me:

"Proposition 8, the potential Roe v. Wade of marriage"

OK, for once they're admitting the possibility of losing, and trying to use it to motivate their flock (as if Californians who care most about Prop 8 will show up in DC en masse).

But, Prop 8 is the least likely to be decided a la Roe v. Wade, or Loving v. VA for that matter, as a nation-wide constitutional mandate for marriage equality.

Anyone who's ever been swindled by a huckster claiming to know stuff that wasn't true, or predicting something that is utterly unlikely, is going to walk away sooner or later. NOM seems determined not to care, happy to keep hawking its goods off the back of its 21st century medicine oil wagon.
