“Green MP Kevin Hague put it to Mr Roberts that the Mormon church has already redefined marriage by banning its former practice of polygamy.

“After a lengthy pause, Mr Roberts said the ban resulted from the law ‘asking us to reconsider that’.”

And you are being asked to reconsider your position on same-sex marriage. If you were able to change your position on polygamy, then how hard can changing your position on same-sex marriage be?

Well, if we hadn’t redefined marriage, wives would still be the chattel of their husbands and the miscegenation laws would still be on the books. The terror campaign against “redefining marriage” is completely bogus.

Nobody really defines what ‘redefine’ means. It’s just used as a scary word, with slippery boundaries.
