She probably preferred to err on the save side. It will be early June in most places, end of May in places with exceptionally ambitious mayors. 10 days is the minimum delay between publishing of the banns and marriage, usually it takes longer to get a date for a wedding (in a French paper I read it takes 4 weeks in most townhalls.)

Monday is a holiday in France, so couples will be able to start filing the paperwork on May 21 – plus 10 days makes May 31.

One mayor in Paris (3rd arondissement) promised to have the registry office open Saturday afternoon (today) and the mayor of Montpellier already scheduled the first same-sex wedding for May 29.

I wonder when the florists, the cake makers,photographers, travel agents who refuse to provide wedding services to gay couples and then pretend it’s THEIR rights that are being violated for doing so?
I’ve always wondered how it’s a business owner’s rights to abuse a paying customer for something that customer didn’t know about in the first place?

There is no end to the irony of bigots and bigoted policies.
Papa Choux’s romantic booths offers a sheer curtain and modicum of privacy. Well, at least the gay couples wouldn’t have exposed other diners to their romantic behavior.
Anymore than other couples would have been to the gay customers.
So what’s the problem?

It’s no different than we hear from so-called religious leaders, who assert their dominion over the lives of others because of the spiritual masturbation– and i don’t mean to knock a perfectly delightful past-time with the spirtual label– wherein all they hear is the endless chatter going on inside their heads, and mistake it for the voice of god.

In this case, its merely the assertion of medical dominion over the lives of other people, without having to justify that any such medical dominion is required, or is based in anything other than ignorance, prejudice, and a bad tendency towards believing in ones own human superiority– intelelctual masturbation elevated to an art form.

what’s VERY funny to me is his distinction between obligatory homosexuality and episodic homosexuality, which gives away his whole game, and reveals the assumption of moral and human superiority and the concomitant requirement for spiritual, I mean “medical” dominion. Apparently, whenb WE do homosexuality, it’s sick, disgusting, and indicative of mental illness.

When heterosexuals behave homosexually, it’s normal.As we say in germany, Tee und Hee.
