Well, I see I’ve read this about 1 year after the other posters.

Thank you for telling us about the pink dress… I almost cried…

And, I loved that Hindu quote, “Forgiveness means giving up all hopes for a better past.”

As a male to female transsexual, I simply Loved that quote.

maris – thank you sooo much for sharing such loving and intimate details about your brother kirk. everyone does grieve differently and your concept of not clouding your memories with anger and remembering all of the special moments of life is very exceptionally beautiful!!! i’m glad that many more of the puzzle pieces are fitting together for you and your family.

This is so very beautiful! My son, who at the time was only ten, wanted to buy something special for his sister leaving for college. Although the shop girls were showing him little trinkets, he settled on an expensive ring and asked to take the money out of his savings to buy it for her. He is thirteen and also struggles with being gay and accepted. This is beautiful and such a lovely testament to your brother. He was lucky to have you. Thanks for sharing his story.
