Sad About Marriage, Not About Murder

Jim Burroway

Jeff Kropf, the Oregon state director of the conservative Americans for Prosperity, was sad when he learned about the shooting death of Debbie Lee Higbee Benton, 54, of Gladsone County Oregon. But it wasn’t the murder that made him sad:

You see, it was their marriage makes him sad. But now that their marriage was ended with a bullet, maybe Knopf can cheer up now.

Jeez, and he thinks he’s pro-life? My God, a human being dies and he’s happy? Those people frighten me..

I think we need to remember our place. According to Jeff Kropf’s Facebook page, he self-identifies as a “Non Denominational Charismatic Evangelical Christian.” And that means he knows much more about morality than we do. So let’s just listen and learn.

What the hell? He’s put out thinking her marriage was illegal and shouldn’t have occurred?!

Murdering a person is HELLA illegal! A WORSE thing to do to someone, than marrying someone of the same sex.
Apparently to this guy, a ban on murder doesn’t have nearly the same principle behind it.

Really, this guy is such an asshole!

A lot of people like to hate on Mother Teresa. The quote “Too many words, just let them see what we do” is applicable here.

What do you think the bible means by “You shall know them by their fruits”?

Go baby go.

You got anything better to add?

What’s wrong isn’t the comments on this post but that respect for life is in such short supply…most of all from the supposedly “pro-life” people.

People like Mr. Knopf there are what’s destroying Christianity, not any outside force.

Mr. Kropf* excuse me.

Name correction aside, he’s still a self righteous ass.

@BlackDog: I was referring to the comments on the *Facebook* post. Not this blog posting. I guess I should have been more clear.

I didn’t read the comments, or the facebook post.

Ignorant comments by right wing morons tend to piss me off.

Sad story about Gladstone hairdresser murdered in her salon. Sad because she illegally married a woman police sgt who falsified the marriage application claiming to be a man and judge illegally married them, violating OR’s Constitution ban on gay marriage. Will anyone be held accountable? Judge or Sgt? Will it endanger her court testimony and overturn cases?

(You could learn from Pam’s House Blend and Slap Upside the Head. Both those websites are very accessible. Good As You is terrible.)

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

From the Inside: Focus on the Family’s “Love Won Out”

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings.
