Family “Research” Council Stays Classy On DADT Repeal

Jim Burroway

Of course, I kid. The Family “Research” Council is having a total meltdown, warning that the military is about to drown in a pool of “HIV-tainted blood”:

FRC will continue to monitor the consequences of this reversal of 236 years of American military policy, limit the damage–and demand that the Defense Department do the same. Expect to see celebrations from homosexual groups and fawning stories in the media about how “the sky has not fallen.” That’s only because there will be no press releases from the new victims of sexual harassment or assault, the soldiers exposed to HIV-tainted blood, the thousands of servicemembers who choose not to reenlist rather than forfeit their freedom of speech and religion, and the untold number of citizens who choose never to join the military. It’s clear this President is more interested in appeasing sexual revolutionaries than in fighting America’s enemies.

“It’s clear this President is more interested in appeasing sexual revolutionaries than in fighting America’s enemies.”

He’s making a attempt (albeit half-hearted) at fighting the FRC, so you have to give him at least some credit…

Everything they say will not come true but they still believe in a god?

If the president is supposed to be behaving like a Christian shouldn’t he be loving America’s enemies?

I love how people like F”R”C talk as if this has never been done before. There are numerous countries who do not have a ban on LGBT people in the military. If there was a huge jump in sexual harassment, HIV-infection, or suppression of speech and religion, I think we might have heard about it.

“Gays are promiscuous and diseased, and want to destroy America!”

“These two men would like to formally register their monogamous relationship, and are both members of the armed forces, defending the country. What do you say to that?”

“… … … Gays are promiscuous and diseased, and want to destroy America!”

These scum are like the Westboro Baptists, but with a wider vocabulary.

The one question I’d love to ask these buffoons.

If the Navy SEAL who shot Osama Bin Laden in the face came out as gay, would they have the balls to look him in the eye and call him a dangerous threat to the military?

I actually like their message… GOOD! I hope all those homophobes drop out or don’t join up! We don’t need them! We don’t need an army who discriminates! That’s not what America is or is all about! I actually encourage all of them to leave and not sign!

The problem with groups like the FRC and like-minded individuals is that they think a majority, a large overwhelming majority, share their mental pathology that views gay people as the very embodiment of evil and disease.

To most sane people, these views are simply worthy of a good hearty laugh.

Here in Australia, we have had an open armed forces since the early 1990s. We seem to be doing well, except for the last year or so when several sexual harrassment cases have become national news, including one this week when a member of the Royal Australia Navy was sent to gaol for raping a fellow cadet a few years ago while that cadet was passed out due to a large intake of alcohol and the offender also filmed the act and it became well shared by all. So, yes, this FRC of yours may be correct. Oh forgot to mention, all these cases are HETEROSEXUAL! (There have been no cases of homosexual sexual harassment recorded let alone our fighting women and men in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia etc. being “awash” with “tainted” blood.)

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. This story is a stark reminder that there are severe and damaging consequences when therapists try to ensure that boys will be boys.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

From the Inside: Focus on the Family’s “Love Won Out”

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

Anti-gay activists often charge that gay men and women pose a threat to children. In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings. Straight From The Source: What the “Dutch Study” Really Says About Gay Couples

Anti-gay activists often cite the “Dutch Study” to claim that gay unions last only about 1½ years and that the these men have an average of eight additional partners per year outside of their steady relationship. In this report, we will take you step by step into the study to see whether the claims are true.

The FRC’s Briefs Are Showing

Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council submitted an Amicus Brief to the Maryland Court of Appeals as that court prepared to consider the issue of gay marriage. We examine just one small section of that brief to reveal the junk science and fraudulent claims of the Family “Research” Council.

Daniel Fetty Doesn’t Count

Daniel FettyThe FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.
