Leper Colonies for Sodomites

I have a thing for British accents. Always have. I’ve always found them to be incredibly sexy. And maybe it was the formative influence of my parents watching Masterpiece Theater with Alister Cooke when I was growing up, but I always associated British accents with intelligence and sophistication — a far cry from the Appalachian accent I grew up with.

This gentleman changes everything:

You know, the whole time I was listening to this, I couldn’t help but wonder — wouldn’t this make a great soundtrack for a techno club remix?

Oh, and if you are registered on youtube you might like to leave a comment on this man’s video and flag it as hate speech … just a suggestion.

Personally, I’d rather not flag his post as hate speech for two reasons:

1) I’m generally a supporter of free speech. While I recognize that every privately-owned forum like YouTube (and Box Turtle Bulletin for that matter) has the right to say what they will or will not allow on their platform, I personally give very wide latitude when it comes to suggesting that something should be removed. I also believe everyone else has the right (and sometimes the duty) to condemn speech that crosses the line.

2) I kinda like having people like this guy spouting their ignorance. Believe me, people like these are just as embarrassing to the “more mainstream” anti-gay activists as they are entertaining to the rest of us.

Garbage in, garbage out. That’s what I think when I listen to this demagogue.

I think he doth protest too much. As in some recent examples, the person who denigrates sinful people is revealed to be a hypocrite (as in: Ted Haggart, Jimmy Swaggert and a few local examples I could mention). Somehow his obsession with sodomy is abundantly redundant and comes off as…just that…an obsession…an unhealthy obsession that might need some professional counseling.

I could predict if the camera panned down under this man’s desk he probably wasn’t wearing pants when he was making this video.

Well that was…a moment. But…cheer up…he’s not only talking leper colonies for gays, but apparently also Catholics, politicians and various celebrities too. So we’ll have plenty of company. Seriously…I got the distinct impression he was only marginally less offended by Catholics then by sodomites. I think he’d probably fill in the chunnel too if he could.

Did you notice that he wasn’t alone in that room while he was venting for the camera? Sounded like there was at least one other person in there, possibly more. I wonder if they’d all just been drinking or something.

Oh…and he used to be a policeman. Good thing for gay British citizens that’s in his past…

And here I am, a gay Catholic — a double-whammy!

He should be thankful to live in the UK. Were he in Afghanistan, he could get his ears and nose cut off by other religious zealots.

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

From the Inside: Focus on the Family’s “Love Won Out”

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings. Straight From The Source: What the “Dutch Study” Really Says About Gay Couples

Daniel FettyThe FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.
