He describes the sacrifices he made during his year at Love In Action, including having been beaten by a staff member. David and Brandon conclude by handing collages of their stories to an LIA staff member.

I find it difficult to understand comments like those of Brandon Tidwell. If his parents don’t like the idea that something they did caused him to become gay, shouldn’t his response be that there’s nothing wrong with being gay? Insisting that they aren’t responsible implies that there is something wrong with being gay. His claim that God made him gay is interesting, and I suppose helps show the quasi-religious appeal the born-gay theory has to many gay men.
