Gosh, Why Would Hutcherson’s Daughter Make the GSA Kids Uncomfortable?

Timothy Kincaid

February 19th, 2008

gsa.jpgAs we previously reported, Rev. Ken Hutcherson has expanded his war on the lives of gay people from Microsoft to Mt. Si High School.

Convinced of his moral superiority, Hutcherson has no hesitation in making outlandish demands and accusations. The new targets in his sights are the teachers who he feels disrespected him and the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance.

Hutcherson told OneNewsNow

In addition, says the pastor and father, teachers at the school have approached his daughter — and on at least one occasion, one of his daughter’s friends — in hopes of discouraging her from attending Gay Straight Alliance meetings in the aftermath of the assembly. They have reportedly advised that her presence causes members of the club to be “uncomfortable.”

On his church website, Hutch has the following message:

gsa.bmp

The text reads:

This poster is hanging in the window of a classrom [sic] at Mt. Si High School!

It’s time we wake up and realize we are in a culture WAR!

When teachers are allowed to hang posters like this in our local school, we’ve got a big problem. It’s time to take back our schools.

Pastor Hutch

Hutcherson knows that the poster is a product of the students – or he should. So why is he complaining that a teacher was allowed to hang the poster? Because he knows that he won’t be able to stir up anger against children and honesty always takes a back seat to effectiveness in war.

I don’t know Hutcherson’s daughter. She may be delightful. But if I were a student who was part of Mt. Si’s GSA, I too would be uncomfortable to see her – or her camera – in the room. Her father has declared WAR on their lives, and it certainly appears that she is a soldier.

Good Lord Ken Hutcherson is off the rails.

And yet, Exodus invites him to speak at their pep rallies and actually defends him.

If I was a closeted gay student attending GSA meetings so i could be in a safe place, I’D be uncomfortable around the daughter of a man who leads a hate group (watchmen on the walls) too.

Huh? What war?
The world is my homeland, peace is my religion.

Man, I sincerely hope his daughter’s not gay or bi.

Man, I sincerely hope his daughter’s not gay or bi.

Well, if she is, she’ll be able to found the “queer kids of conservative a-holes” club with Alan Keyes’ daughter Maya, Randall Terry’s son, Phyllis Schafley’s son, etc., etc., etc.

At first I was surprised to hear his daughter had been asked to avoid the GSA meetings. Certainly her views may be very different from her father’s, so why shouldn’t she come. But I didn’t think about what Emily K pointed out – what if you were a closeted kid trying to remain a bit anonymous? Would you feel comfortable having the daughter of this guy in the room with you while you talk about how hard it is to be gay? Could you really trust her to keep your secrets? Even if such suspicion is unwarranted, I could see it having an impact.

I think Hutcherson’s known ties to persons that not only advocate violence against LGBT persons, but commit it would be enough to dismiss this guy. But he is also apparently tied to ‘holocaust revisionists’ that issue tracts blaming Gay people for the rise of Nazi Germany.

I guess actions in his WAR include: utilizing his buddies over at the New Generation Church in Latvia to organize protests against freedom of assembly by Gay persons where acts of violence and explosives were thrown by the anti-Gay protesters at those seeking to protest peacefully.
