Bobby Sherman’s Alright

Jim Burroway

February 29th, 2008

When I was about ten or eleven years old, I had a fierce crush on Bobby Sherman. Andrew at Queerty dug this up on Youtube and took me back. Now that I’m looking at this again I’m reminded that tastes change a lot with age. Bobby was cute … but I don’t remember him being so, I dunno, white. But still, not too shabby.

I was so in love with Bobby Sherman. I really wanted to be one of those Brides, except for the girl part, of course. David Soul was my second choice, and the macho brother a distant 3rd.Unfortunately, I saw a photo a few years ago, and that beauty just did not stick.

LOL…dont sweat it, Jim. Joe Cocker knocked that song outta the park and didn’t sound at ALL white singing it.

I recently met Florence LaRue of the Fifth Dimension featured in this clip, and I was astonished at how young she’s looking these days. (We worked together on a “The Shield” episode.)

Speaking of Joe Cocker, he turns up in Julie Taymor’s “Across the Universe” as a blues singing homeless man. I love getting a blast from the past.
Bless Bobby Sherman, he went on to work as a paramedic and in assuring that funding for paramedic training and equipment remains strong.
Nice to know where these folks are and how well they fared…after episodes like this.

Of course, the fashions are cringe worthy though.
