Although five cities in Argentina, including Buenos Aires, recognize civil unions, the country has just enacted its first nationwide recognition. (AP)

Argentina on Monday announced its first nationwide gay-rights measure: granting same-sex couples the right to claim their deceased partners’ pensions.

Good for Argentina. My boyfriend and I will be traveling there in October and it’s satisfying to know we’ll be spending our hard-earned travel dollars in a country that’s making progress towards equality.

Quick, HELP, someone notify the extremist puritan Anglican Bishop Greg Venables of Argentina (formerly of England) that life, justice and human rights are moving ahead of him…currently he’s patrolling for “fall away” Episcopal Church parishes in the United States who are unhappy with LGBT people at all levels of Churchlife/everydaylife. No wonder he has few Church members to call his own, he’s busy courting bigots up North because there are fewer and fewer at home in the Anglican Province of Southern Conealone!

Argentina? Seriously?

And the USA still has Constitutional amendments on the table every few months to create fear in the yokels.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY?

Exodus 22:19

19Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.

Leviticus 18:22

22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 18:23

23Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Leviticus 20:13

13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus 20:15

15And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

Leviticus 20:16

16And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Qazi;

Was there a point to your post?

Qazi seems to think that homosexuality has something to do with lying with a beast.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY?
Exodus 22:19
19Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.

No problem, we may be hairy, but we’re not beasts, we’re men!

Leviticus 18:22
22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

a) This is physically impossible, as men do not have vaginas, nor do they have penises. Just as you cannot fly a plane as you would use a pogo-stick, you cannot lie with a man as thou wouldst with a woman.
b) I would NEVER lie with a woman. Period.
c) what if we’re standing up?

Leviticus 18:23
23Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

amen, that is confusion. I have no idea what this means, other than it involves beasts, which aren’t my type. Bear, maybe, and that’s a euphemism.

Leviticus 20:13
13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Repeat, yawn.

Leviticus 20:15
15And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.

Look, I admit that some of my past sexual escapades were with not-so-attractive men, but “beast” is certainly harsh. Well maybe that one guy.

Leviticus 20:16
16And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

You lost me at woman. This doesn’t apply to me.

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

From the Inside: Focus on the Family’s “Love Won Out”

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

Straight From The Source: What the “Dutch Study” Really Says About Gay Couples

Daniel Fetty Doesn’t Count

Daniel FettyThe FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.
