Anti-Gay School Board President wants “Carrie Prejean Day”

This is a week old, but I just noticed it.

Jim Gibson is a trustee of the Vista Unified School Board in Vista, the city in northern San Diego County that Carrie Prejean calls home. His wife, Cathy, is the San Diego area director for Concerned Women for America.

Gibson is delighted that one of his alumni has taken such a prominent anti-marriage position. So much so that he wants the school district to honor her.

Trustee Jim Gibson said this week he wants to make June 1 “Carrie Prejean Day” in the district. He called Prejean, a 2005 Vista High School graduate, a “good, strong role-model.”

“We’re setting her up as an example,” he said. “As far as I’m concerned, she’s a great role-model, and she’s a person who needs to be emulated.”

Gibson’s proposed proclamation calls Prejean an “exemplary student leader” who “showed integrity, leadership, dedication and high moral standards” in the Miss California and Miss USA pageants.

This is not the first time that Gibson has gotten excited about opposing same-sex marriage. He unsuccessfully tried to get the school board to endore Proposition 8.

Gibson is planning on presenting the proclamation to the board on May 14th. If it passes, perhaps the students can emulate Carrie’s high moral standards by coming to school topless.

Oh my goodness!! I must alert Maddie Shmageggligher, the head of NOME, of this development. It is very important to the Christian breast enhancement recipient movement.

Yes, students should emulate her! All the 17 year old girls in the senior classes should have nudie pictures taken of themselves and and then start saving up for boob jobs. Yup, she sure has real high moral standards.

Whatever.

they should hand out silicone falsies to the kindergarteners and peroxide to get them started emulating their hero. Awards will be handed out to students who get a week to prepare an answer to a question and yet still manage to trip over their own words anyway. Such as the iraq.

Carrie Prejean in 10 years is going to regret hooking up with NOM and the rest of the Lunatics. I seriously doubt she has the capability to keep her now famous bigotry held as high as David Duke has. Sure there will be those who will never except the fact that LGBT folks are Equal. But That type of recognition doesn’t seem to be what a Miss California would want.

It’s being reported that some of the boys at the school want to honor Carrie by impersonating her in a little drag show, complete with falsies. But upon hearing the news, Carrie said, “It’s great that schoolboys can choose, but in my family and my church, falsies should be between a male surgeon and his female client. No offence to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

I know you jest, Richard, but I actually hope if the school goes through with having a “Carrie Prejean” day, some male students DO show up dressed as Carrie to “honor” her.

I am convinced Gibson will suddenly pull off his clothes, revealing his lacy pink panties, and dramatically recreate Prejean’s pose while talking about the importance of “opposite marriage.”

NOME has made good on their promise to take note of this day. They even created an emblem, which displays Ms. Prejean in all her Christian glory, to be used on any banners or media used. See it here.

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
