Focus On the Family Issues A Sexy Santa Alert

They’re not amused:

GLSEN\’s fundraiser invitation says the play depicts “Santa in his heartfelt struggle to reconcile his romantic relationship with Italian toy maker Giovanni Geppetto.” Pictures on a Web site promoting the production depict Santa in not-so-subtle sexually suggestive situations. The play also mocks those who support traditional values.

It\’s sad that GLSEN, which claims that it wants to protect kids, has chosen to use a fundraising tool that perverts the innocence of Christmas and sexualizes the longtime, child-revered icon of Santa Claus.

Goodness, no! We can’t have the gays sexualizing a fictional character. That’s the catwoman’s job!

This reminds me of a riff from the MST3K episode “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” in a scene where newspapers with headlines are spinning off the presses. Tom Servo says: “‘Village Voice – Santa’s Outing’?? What?!”

But I thought Santa was fake and the War On Christmas Campaign was supposed to weed out the fake stuff. Now they’re defending the fake stuff? I wish they’d make up their minds!

Emily K, thank you for mentioning MST3K’s “Santa Claus Conquers The Martians”, which I just recently listened to again (that’s becoming a holiday tradition for me).

But aside from Focus On The Family being, er, focused on something so unimportant, why aren’t they complaining about the song “Santa Baby”? Or, for that matter, “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”. The first is extremely suggestive, and the second is…well, it’s all about the kids seeing Santa making out with someone who’s definitely not Mrs. Claus.

Brilliant move to add in the old video clip! Now let’s see, people starving, dying of disease that easily preventable, wars, wars and more wars… yes, Focus certainly has their priorities straight this holiday season!
Sheesh!~

Darn it. I looked for those pictures depicting “Santa in not-so-subtle sexually suggestive situations” and couldn’t find them. Drats!!

Timothy, years ago someone sent me a card with a picture of Santa stretched out on a rug wearing nothing but his red cap, glasses, and a smile. It was not, however, an ad for GLSEN or any other organization. And please forgive me for not going looking for it. I love Santa as much as anybody, but not like that…

They’re so right. That’s as bad as labeling Spongebob Squarepants, a fictional cartoon character based on an asexual organism, gay.

Next, they’ll have shocking pictures of Santa and Tinky Winky cavorting. LOL

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International.
