Who NOT to vote for in Chicago

Timothy Kincaid

December 1st, 2010

Chicagans have lots of choices to pick from for mayor of ChiTown.

Just not this guy:

James Meeks, a Democratic Senator who is also chair of the the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus, is seeking your vote for mayor. Well, maybe not your vote. Because Meeks, is a Baptist minister who voted “no” on civil unions. He “believes in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman,” you see.

Funny. I believe in the sanctity of equal representation of an elected official and all of his constituents. So when it comes to Meeks, feel free to vote “no.”

Cuz of all the sanctity.

On the other hand, it’s too bad state Senator Ricky Hendon isn’t running for the post.

I have a personal policy of voting against ANY minister, regardless of his political opinions because I believe strongly in the separation of church and state. That goes for Mike Huckabee as well as for Jesse Jackson.

Meek’s opinions regarding gay marriage are just the tip of the iceberg for this homophobe. He’s called homosexuality an ‘evil disease’ (to shouts of hallelujah from his adoring cult like congregation)and his church had a Halloween display depicting gay men in Hell.
Now he wants us to believe this would not interfere with how he governed.
