Email of the Day: America is Headed for Civil War Because of “Gayist Conspiracy”

Jim Burroway

June 7th, 2012

This is a rather long one from Sharon Krass, an intermittently prolific letter writer from Maryland who believes that the “ex-gay truth” is being suppressed. World Net Daily published a 2010 commentary from her claiming that the right has some sort of an “ex-gay phobia.” She also sees a Jewish conspiracy (PDF: 16KB/2 pages) acting in cahoots with the gay rights movement. So, you know what we’re dealing with, right? She appears to have some sort of connection with PFOX and Richard Cohen’s International Healing Foundation, both of which are located in the Baltimore-Washington area.

She send this to me with the prologue you see below, and concludes that if the Senate doesn’t put an end to the “Gayist conspiracy,” America will be “headed for civil war. I mean that seriously, literally.”

The ex-gay truth will prevail.

Subject: ENDA, health, and justice

May 11, 2012

Hon. Richard Burr
Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Children and Families
Health, Employment, Pension and Labor Committee
United States Senate
Washington, D.C.

Dear Sen. Burr:

Concerning the upcoming hearing (June 12) on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, favoring “equal rights for gays”:

These are the reasons you should oppose ENDA and encourage other senators to do the same:

1. It is part of the general gayist strategy to dictate to the public that homosexuality and transgenderism should be treated at all times and in every way as normal, when, in fact, they are psychological disorders, ones that are preventable and treatable. They are not inborn, and they are not comparable to race. The Left has dominated the knowledge industry for decades and tyrannized the American people through it. The real information on these disorders is at www.narth.com, www.gaytostraight.org, www.peoplecanchange.com, www.pfox.org, www.janellehallman.com, and www.josephnicolosi.com. The Committee members have time to study this issue in a real way, with the help of these websites, and I expect them to put their craven self-interest aside and do so. I also expect that citizens chosen to give testimony will include real experts and not the bogus ones who are there simply to do the bidding of the Left or to give token and ineffectual protest for the Right. (Please see my “Conservatives’ Ex-Gay Phobia,” online.)

2. Gayism, also known as gay-egalitarianism, is cruel and unfair to the afflicted. By exploiting them for Leftist purposes, it abandons them to their illnesses, which include not only psychosexual abnormalities but depression, narcissism, anxiety, and rage. Keep in mind that physical harm is part of these conditions, and that the medical malpractice of the bogus “sex change” is being inflicted on children as well as adults. (Both President Obama and Mitt Romney know the truth.)

3. Because of the general psychological/behavioral impairments that are part of these disorders, and because the sexual aspect is compulsive, these disorders do significantly impact work life.

4. The Left uses law in what conservative scholar Thomas Sowell calls “the quest for cosmic justice.” (See his book by that name and his speech, online.) In other words, anything they want to promote they cast in terms of not only moral good but constitutional right. That itself is a narcissistic, tyrannical, abusive approach to law. The current leadership of the American Bar Association, unfortunately, is fully on board with this mentality.

5. The truth about the nature, causes, prevention, and treatment of homosexuality and transgenderism is being increasingly marginalized in our society, culturally and legally. Discussion has become increasingly one-sided, which means it is not discussion at all. Both popular sovereignty and intelligent governance are impossible under these conditions.

6. If the Senate, after decades of avoidance, does not do its duty and bring the full truth to the fore, thus defeating the passage of ENDA, America is headed for civil war. I mean that seriously, literally.

Please share this message with other senators and members of the House. I call you all to bring wisdom, courage, and integrity to your deliberations and voting. That will mean the end of the gayist tyranny. Thank you.

It seems she is so desperate she thinks her only option is to threaten violence if she doesn’t get her way.

Based on that letter alone, I think I can have her legally committed to an insane asylum.

Yeah, I’ve been with the same man for 17 years, and neither of us has: psychosexual abnormalities, depression, narcissism, anxiety, or rage; and our sex life isn’t compulsive, and doesn’t impact our work life at all. What the hell does she think is going on? That gay people have sex 24/7 and live out of cardboard boxes behind supermarkets because they can’t hold a job? I mean, that’s how totally insane her rhetoric is. The fact that people actually belief this garbage shows how extreme homophobia is in our culture. She is truly pathetic.

David…

We don’t have sex 24/7?

Okay, as a straight man who actually knows some gay people I think I can briefly sum up my opinion in one word:

Really??

What the hell cave did she just crawl out of. Most of the gay people I know are probably more mentally healthy than I am.

I would know.

Fascinating.

I don’t think she’s so much threatening as following her logically absurd planks to their logically absurd conclusion.

Fascinating.

I suppose this is what happens when one buys into all that crap that Rush Limbaugh and his ilk are selling. Which expressed one way is “The world & everything in it is easy to understand and my opinion is the only correct way to view it.”

I know terrified delusional people make for fat profits, but how can those who are profiting off of her delusion sleep at night?

We are supposedly the dangerous ones but if we get EDNA passed there will be a civil war??? They have become comical in their delusions. Imagine the mental gymnastics necessary to make these claims about how their ability to oppress us once legally defeated will enrage them to a point of actual war which will somehow still be our fault because we wont stand still while they “love” us to death.
It is true that you can’t fix stupid.

Why does anyone care what these seriously mentally ill people do or say? Just because they can manage to type a letter doesn’t make it any less deranged. It probably was sent in a tin foil envelope so “the gays” couldn’t alter it.

Just a thought…

if you want a committee member to carefully consider your ideas and to advance your goals, it might be advisable not to accuse them of having craven self-interests.

The fact that prominent among her sources are Joseph Nicolosi and his organization, NARTH, should be all that any sane person needs to dismiss her as a conspiracy-theory wacko. Nicolosi has been discredited by the APA for decades, and he keeps right on spewing his nonsense. The lady seems genuinely afraid, but that’s not what campaigns of truth are based on.

Nathaniel

June 7th, 2012

Gene, just because we know the truth about Nicolosi doesn’t mean it will be obvious to the reader (who happens to be the senator from my state against whom I voted). In fact, I wonder how hard one would have to dig to find the intimacy of his connection to NARTH. Worse yet, most of these sites are probably run by the same group, yet, since they are offered as individual sites, would appear to be independent sources.

I don’t know Burr well, but I know enough to assume he will vote opposite of however I would. I don’t think he is an idiot, but if he has any reason to hold back ENDA, he will.

I’m picturing Sharon Kass dressed up as a dominatrix and using a whip on a diapered David Vitter. The caption reads, “Cravenly self-interested dog! How dare you fail me! I will send you to the fires of hell, even if I have to whip you into it myself!”

So.. this theocratist is labelling us ‘gayists.’ We should start up a “Gayest Gayist” contest at which we’d give out the annual Sharon Kass Award, because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine against germs like her.

People like Kass, are very much like the way Tony Perkins admitted: they don’t ever spend any real time with real gay people. So they cannot resist whatever outrageous information comes their way.
Even more important, is that they consider themselves CERTAIN and better informed than anyone else.
Disregarding that there are hets like me for example FAR more experienced and know better.
It would be fair to expect deference in the face of that, among other things.
But then, Kass isn’t trying to be fair or more informed at all. Neither is Perkins.

If she lives in D.C., then it’s a big enough city to where she could experience those unfortunate individuals who ARE dealing with measurable and debilitating pathologies.
She’d be able to, and should, know the considerable difference between those among us as a whole, who are law abiding tax paying and self reliant people…and those whose mental and emotional instability or addictions have rendered them the opposite of that.

It’s the responsibility of those who have chosen a leadership position to be THE best informed, and accurate and truthful about social impact and results.
Kass refuses to do so.
She’s lazy, and likely not too smart and she’s definitely indifferent to the harms caused by anti gay sentiment, and ex gay fraud.
The entire issue of ex gay anything is severely dishonest and most of all, confuses the lazy and confounds the truth and honesty.

There IS no truth to the ex gay industry as long as they exacerbate and then exploit, anti gay prejudice and hostility.
There would BE no ex gays, without it.
We know it, and THEY know it too.

The dumbest BS of all, is that these people can’t get a friggin’ life UNLESS they are bad mouthing the gay folks?

I mean seriously, I’m surrounded by and confronting the most deadly pathologies known to man, and the ex gay obsession is a pathology unto itself.
There should be more important things to do with the power of her office than this pathetic obsession.

Thank you, Sharon, for your commentary. I think that once the legislators read your arguments and thoroughly understand what you are presenting, that there will be a mad rush by these representatives and senators to join those who already oppose idiots like you. Your email has done more to demonstrate the evil nature and the homophobia of the far right than any examples we gayists, whatever the hell THAT means, have provided.

You are a hero and will likely be celebrated by the queer community for many years to come. So thanks again for your extraordinary assistance in the battle to get the GLBT community access to those rights guaranteed in the Constitution.

Having received many e-mails and comments from Kass over the years, I suspect that is not her original writing. She was fed that text by someone else.

The letter dresses up bigotry in faux-clinical language the same way conservative Christians used to pathologize Jews and African-Americans.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
