Are Pittsburgh police stalling on gay bashing?

Sometimes you read something wrong. Then you read it again wrong. Then you get all indignant and snarky and write a commentary.

And then someone points out that you read it wrong and you feel kinda stupid.

This is one of those times.

Sorry, folks, no story here.

Ok, first of all, I hope your suspicions are incorrect. I would hate to see my home town exhibiting such disregard for our community. Pittsburgh is a nice part of the state and was recently listed as one of the Top 10 cities to live in. Life has taken me across state but if I had the chance, I would be back in a heart beat.

Secondly, Timothy, I think there may be something wrong with your quote. “Officers said they do know who they are looking for.”

If the “n’t” was deliberately left off the fourth word in that sentence; then it’s time to quit being just suspicious and start asking the ‘burghs’ commissioner questions.

Sandhorse, every time I read that my brain provided a “not” between “do” and “know”.

Thanks, brain.

I for one appreciate the fact that you owned your mistake and didn’t simply wipe it from the record. Too many people on the web and on television lack that integrity.

Well, in your defense Timothy, the line itself was grammatically cumbersome.

“Officers said they know who they are looking for.” Would have been a ‘more clearer’, and ‘much lesser’ verbose, way to state that fact. ;)

But I guess if the writer was getting paid by the letter…
