I don’t think they’ll get the stay. They need to show that there is a reasonable expectation of their victory at the appellate level for the court to stay the ruling pending that appeal. I was hoping that the state would realize it has a losing case and just give up rather than waste more of the public monies. I guess not.

The case and the ruling were very straightforward and there is no suggestion of error. They haven’t really got much of a hook on which to base their appeal. nay animus. And a misunderstanding of how the Constitution and a republic work. Maroons all.

They have to play to the grandstands on this.

They couldn’t possibly give up at this point, money and misunderstanding aside. There would be pitchforks and torches if they tried.

And they’d get kicked off the Tabernacle Choir, too.

Let Utah use up state money benefiting the gay citizens of every other state with a discriminatory amendment!
