    Snark alert!

Regarding the flag design specs, this is yet another example of government over-regulation of the private sector, squelching the creativity and ingenuity of the American people.

I blame gay marriage for this, and Barack Obama, and health care reform, and Michelle Obama’s oppressive school lunch program.

We didn’t have any problems with the flag before the government got involved!

I say let the flag designers do what they want and let the market decide what we pledge allegiance to!

    End of snark.

You might be a banana republic if you have a Flag Code and a Flag Day and treat your flag as a living entity to be worshiped instead of just a symbol. Way too many people just worship and fetishize the American flag while shitting all over the ideals it is supposed to represent.

New reasons to make trans lives more miserable, thanks to elected conservative school board members.

“At the news conference Denike and Woo told reporters that realtors are concerned about the [school board's transgender] policy’s potential negative impact on the enrolment of international students as well as public school students on Vancouver’s west side.”

Translation: If you don’t mistreat trans students, parents in China won’t buy a house in Vancouver for their kids to go to school. BTW:

“In 2004, the average west side older detached house sold for $835,101, and this March [2014] the average price was $2.48 million.” http://www.theprovince.com/trend+continues+detached+home+Vancouver+west+side+would+worth+million+years+appraisers/9910534/story.html

    This isn’t a “First World Problem” it’s a Top 0.001% Problem!
