There IS a difference between the parties!

Today, with her apology (which included a friggin’ history lesson!), Hillary Clinton demonstrated the difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

No, Rob, she demonstrated the difference between Hillary Clinton’s audience and Donald Trump’s audience.

(But, yes, that’s a difference between the parties. Sadly, it looks like the other party is going to vote for someone who shares their values, and we… probably aren’t.)

And a very important history lesson, it is.

Too often we take situations for granted, and we need to be reminded that someone years ago took steps to ease the situation they faced, and that we owe them a bit of respect.

It wouldn’t hurt to continue their work, as well.

While it is deeply satisfying to emote about how awful a choice the Democratic party has offered us – The Hill & Bill Show, Seasons 9-12 versus The Clown Car, The Wheels Come Off! – the simple facts of the matter can be summed up in one short sentence:
Hillary, Bernie, Elizabeth won’t attack gay and transgender people and the rethuglicans will.
That’s all we Democrats have to offer. That’s exactly what the rethuglicans have to offer.
Anyone who votes for the rethugs or withholds their vote or votes ‘3rd party’ to ‘register’ their displeasure with us Democrats for not being in lock-step with their SJW, PC-Police based Ivory Tower future is anti-GLBT rights.
Period.

If Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were the parties, you’d have a point.

As concerns any action, negative or positive, that might be taken at the Federal level in the next four years, DJT and HRC might as well be their respective parties.

The trouble with Hillary’s apology is that it should never have been necessary. Hillary is an intelligent person and the history of AIDS and HIV should have been well known to her. To make a gaff like she did about the Reagans’ involvement in bringing to the forefront the AIDS/HIV situation is a black mark on her. She should have known better.

I am a regular public speaker and have made gaffes as bad as Secretary Clinton’s, saying something I knew to be untrue – even the opposite of what I meant to say. Like the Secretary, I typically correct myself quickly, but still look like an idiot. It typically happens when I’m concentrating on not saying something and say it anyway – the proverbial elephant in the room.

Joseph,
My first husband died of Aids. I was on the push harder side of ACT-UP!
Yet, I see no problem accepting her apology.
Have you never made a mistake?
I have.

Just thought I’d post this here. The NHS in the UK is saying that PrEP is not going to be available through them. Basically they are saying that they aren’t responsible for preventative services even though they provide things like the pill. What they are going to offer is “a fund of £2m over two years to supply the medication for just 500 gay men who are most at risk of infection.”

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. This story is a stark reminder that there are severe and damaging consequences when therapists try to ensure that boys will be boys.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

From the Inside: Focus on the Family’s “Love Won Out”

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

Testing The Premise: Are Gays A Threat To Our Children?

Anti-gay activists often charge that gay men and women pose a threat to children. In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings. Straight From The Source: What the “Dutch Study” Really Says About Gay Couples

Anti-gay activists often cite the “Dutch Study” to claim that gay unions last only about 1½ years and that the these men have an average of eight additional partners per year outside of their steady relationship. The FRC’s Briefs Are Showing

Daniel Fetty Doesn’t Count

Daniel FettyThe FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.
