636016837979796907-Marine-photoThe independent Marine Corps Times reports that two west coast Marines who posted a threatening photo to a closed Facebook group are now under investigation by the California-based I Marine Expeditionary Force, which is based at Camp Pendleton north of San Diego. A marine posted a photo showing another corporal in uniform holding a rifle and captioned with the message, “Coming to a gay bar new you!”. The person who posted the photo added the message, “Too soon?”

First Lt. Thomas Gray, a spokesman for I MEF, told Marine Corps Times that the command has identified the Marine in the picture and the one who posted it on Facebook.

“We cannot discuss details of an ongoing investigation, but I can tell you the command is taking this incident seriously,” Gray said.

Marine officials have vowed to take “appropriate action” in response to the social media post, according to a statement released by I MEF.

“The Marine Corps does not tolerate discrimination based on sexual orientation, race, gender or religion,” the statement says. “…This type of behavior and mindset will not be allowed, and it is not consistent with the core values of honor, courage and commitment that are demonstrated by the vast majority of Marines on a daily basis.”

It would be painfully embarrassing if said marines were actually gay and planning to come to a gay bar, that the picture was a joke in questionable taste.

I am still absolutely disgusted by queers who actually want to serve in this racist, sexist, homophobic institution that happily murdered 1,000,000 Iraqis because some Texan coke addict told them to. Should I mention the EPIDEMIC of rape against women soldiers by their fellow soliders? There’s NOTHING honorable about serving in the military today. Please don’t whine to me about “protecting my freedom!” The military didn’t do a damned thing to protect suicidal gay teens. The military didn’t do a damn thing to win marriage equality. The military doesn’t do a damn thing to stop gay bashings. I have marched and organized against gay bashings and for marriage equaltiy in my community. So, I gotta ask, what freedom are you talking about?

My dad was a Vietnam vet. The best advice my dad ever gave me when it came to the military is “If you ever join, I’ll kick your ass.”

Military supporters need to stop being abstract and get real. I have friends in the military. If they commit murder when they are civilians, I will not hesitate to call the police on them. Why do we lie to ourselves about what our friends in the military are doing?

I personally think it was a miscommunication between the Marine in the pic and his butt-buddy. This pic was suppose to =be posted to his Grinder account. He’s letting the boys in Hillcrest know that he’s on his way to Flicks to find another dude to pound his rear. The showing of the gun is just a size compensation issue which is why he’s a bottom and not a top.

You wouldn’t believe how many Marines from Pendalton have Grinder, Scruff, and A4A profiles.

In fact, my husband is a Marine who was stationed at Pendelton back in the day.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
