Porno Pete Wants To Out Gov. Crist

Charlie Crist and Carole RomeA few years ago when Florida Governor Charlie Crist was running for office, allegations surfaced that Crist was gay. Crist has repeatedly denied it — not that there’s anything wrong with that. After all, he isn’t opposed to civil unions, and he did direct the state Republican Party to halt funding of the anti-gay marriage initiative.

But now Governor Crist has a new girlfriend, and Crist’s father, Dr. Charles Crist is vouching for him as well:

Dr. Crist said his son, married once from 1979 to 1980, has always enjoyed the company of women: “Always! I mean, I can’t keep up with him,” Dr. Crist laughed. “And they like him, too.”

I guess he’s really straight after all. Good timing too, now that Gov. Crist is being talked up for as possible GOP vice-presidential slot. But none of that is enough for Peter LaBarbera. He still thinks all the as-yet unsubstantiated rumors by themselves are enough to disqualify Gov. Crist from the ticket. What’s more, Petey is intent on outing him:

You won’t believe the amount that’s already been written and discussed in the media about Crist’s sexuality and related issues in the homosexual and liberal press … In our view, that’s a reason right off the bat not to consider Gov. Crist for the highly visible and important position…

We called the Florida’s Governor’s office to ask if the governor is a homosexual or bisexual, and whether he has ever engaged in homosexual behavior — odd questions, to be sure, but necessary ones in this situation. We did not hear back.

Imagine that. The Florida Governor’s mansion isn’t returning Peter’s calls.

“… and Christ’s father, Dr. Charles Crist is vouching for him as well”

I think you mean Crist’s father, not Christ’s!

As for the Governor’s mansion not returning LaBarbera’s calls — Good! Peter LaBarbera is a first class jackass.

David —

You don’t know how many times I corrected that elsewhere :-(

Isn’t it amazing? He can still hook a girlfriend in spite of all those rumors. I guess some girls can see past homosexuality when there is power and fame to be had.

She could do worse. Charlie could be ugly.

The Democratic Party would love to see the Republican ticket with an outed gay man! There could be no better way to neutralize Republican voters’ will to vote.

I know my post is years late. However, with Crist’s new campaign for Senate I got into a late night political conversation with a lesbian friend of mine. I think it strange that she says she won’t vote for him this term unless he comes out of the closet. I told her she’s strange for wanting equality but giving none.

This accuser has no proof either way. And even if he did who cares? Crist’s politics are wonderful. He’s the only politician that I know for a fact gives a crap about people. Seriously, put him to the test. Email him and his staff with a logical issue of yours and see if you get a generic response, like from others in the Gov. or action.

I wouldn’t care if this guy were in gay orgys! He’s a wonderful civil servant!

And of course the Govenor’s office didn’t return “Peter’s” calls! To discriminate for race gender religion AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION is harrassment.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.

On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. Daniel FettyThe FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.
