Anita Bryant “Wants A Gay Best Friend”

Jim Burroway

Chad Hodge is writing an HBO movie about the famed anti-gay activist. He’s also the first gay person she agreed to talk to in 33 years:

“She was panicked to meet me and I was panicked to meet her,” said Hodge, who most recently was executive producer of The Playboy Club.

The two eventually warmed to each other. “We talked about everything,” Hodge said. “Religion, homosexuality, her life and every detail of her life. I mean, everything! She really opened up to me. It started very standoffish…but then it slowly took a turn and she opened up and cried to me.”

Hodge smiled, “Turns out she wants a gay best friend just like everyone else.”

If she wants a gay best friend she should contact GProud, that’s where Ann Coulter got her gay best friend.

This probably means they paid the bigot money.

While I have mixed feelings at the potential of Anita Bryant profiting from this, there is a larger picture here, one that modern society, and in particular those who either were not born or who have forgotten her hatred and bigotry, that will likely impact contemporary viewers toward the positive.

It will be good for the Religious and the Conservatives to see and be seen.

Let the truth be exposed.

I hope Hodges isn’t taken in by the crocodile tears. She’s still toxic.

What is SHE crying about?!

If she hasn’t spoken to a gay person in a generation, then she’s got some catching up to do.
You all know what I mean about how people like her hit and run and then don’t want to confront the people they just hit?

For. What?
For who?

Hee hee…
I just remembered a great play I saw called “Anita Bryant Died for Your Sins” about a gay kid’s coming of age and coming out about the time Anita Bryant was taking her stand.

With this revelation, can there be something called “Anita Bryant CRIED for Your Sins”?
Just sayin’ :0P

Well, she cried when some miserable gay man decided it was acceptable to smash a pie to her face. For how much I deplore her stands and actions, seeing that video of the woman crying after being assaulted would’ve definitely made me sympathetic to the anti-gay crusade had I been straight.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
