That’s according to Peter LaBarbera anyway. Me, I’m not seeing it. But LaBarbera sees defeat and he’s in a full blown panic:
My friend Laurie Higgins below has hit on a microcosm of why our movement is on the brink of an astounding cultural defeat — the triumph of immoral same-sex behavior as a “civil right.” …
About three years ago, I sat in a roomful of evangelical leaders at a major ministry where it was taught that you should not criticize homosexual behavior in advocating against “same-sex marriage.” The “expert” speaker cited poll data and negative audience reaction to the issue being raised. [Emphases his.]
LaBarbera’s also upset that a recent poll found that “80% of Christians polled picked “anti-homosexual” as a negative adjective describing Christianity today.” His solution? Be even more “anti-homosexual.”
Good plan, Pete.

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. This story is a stark reminder that there are severe and damaging consequences when therapists try to ensure that boys will be boys.
When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.
In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

Using the same research methods employed by most anti-gay political pressure groups, we examine the statistics and the case studies that dispel many of the myths about heterosexuality. Download your copy today!

Anti-gay activists often charge that gay men and women pose a threat to children. In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings. This has tremendous consequences, not just for gay men and women, but more importantly for the safety of all our children.
Anti-gay activists often cite the “Dutch Study” to claim that gay unions last only about 1½ years and that the these men have an average of eight additional partners per year outside of their steady relationship. In this report, we will take you step by step into the study to see whether the claims are true.
Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council submitted an Amicus Brief to the Maryland Court of Appeals as that court prepared to consider the issue of gay marriage. We examine just one small section of that brief to reveal the junk science and fraudulent claims of the Family “Research” Council.
The FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.

“And of course: how no man or woman — or teenager — has to be “gay†(positively homosexual)”
That’s right, why be gay if you can be miserable about your sexuality with God’s help?
Also, when did LaBarbara start using this rediculous word “homosexualism”? Has he been cozying up to the Russians or is there something else going on?

Yeah, it’s true. Pete (aka, “Porno Pete”, “The Peter”) isn’t feeling too loved lately.
Those of us in Illinois are quite familiar with him and his AFTAH organization, which is based in suburban Chicago. His website has had a drop in new postings by AFTAH itself, and he’s cross-posting from CWA or AFA to show content.
The media here in Illinois all but ignore this wingnut– they have long since realized he’s a quack with an obsession that requires professional help.
His main focus now is the Day of Silence (DOS). However it should be noted that he tried to orchestrate a boycott of last year’s DOS at his son’s school– only to see it FLOP big time. According to the Naperville Sun (suburban Chicago news), absenteeism was LOWER than average on last year’s Day of Silence observation.
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, he’s a real piece of work and quite fun to watch. Almost better than Comedy Central on cable!

I have often asked those who consider gay people SO dangerous and wanton that they are worse than terrorists (as Sally Kern also famously asserted.)
But I ask a simple question: okay, dangerous gay people, eh?
So, I reiterate the question: if you were walking down the street in the evening. Say an after dinner stroll, and two gay men, engaged like a couple might be. Arms around each other….would you REALLY be so afraid of them then say….
two young men in baggy clothes, looking squinty eyed at you?
I’m sure the former scenario wouldn’t bring a chill of fear in Petey or Matt Barber.
So guess what? Nobody really wants to answer that simple question.
Because in the real world of scenarios that conjure up casual street violence and armed robberies and rapes….gay men or lesbians really aren’t such fearful prospects at all.
Indeed, two gay people likely have MORE to fear than even Petey or Matty boy when it comes to casual and brutal violence in the street.
Some people really have no idea how cowardly, preoccupied with trifles or mean spirited they sound in their anti gay zeal.
There ARE more serious priorities that are dangerous to attend to.
And no matter how much they try and exaggerate the big gay menace, it just isn’t there.
The sky ain’t falling and Petey boy can’t prove it.

It sounds to me like a certain man obsessed with gay sex is becoming irrelevant within the anti-gay agenda.
Sweet.
