Following up in American Family Association’s Tim Wildmon’s reaction yesterday to the Federal Court decision declaring California’s Prop 8 unconstitutional, the AFA has issued this action alert demanding impeachment proceedings against Judge Vaughm Walker:

Impeachment proceedings, according to the Constitution, begin in the House of Representatives. It’s time for you to put your congressman on record regarding the possible impeachment of Judge Walker.

Take Action
Email your representative today and urge him to launch impeachment proceedings against Judge Vaughn Walker for his outrageous ruling against natural marriage.

“It’s time for you to put your congressman on record regarding the possible impeachment of Judge Walker. ”

On what grounds?

I just contacted my congressional representative, Howard Berman.

Dear Congressman Berman,

I would like to urge you not to allow the American Family Association to persuade you to impeach Judge Walker. The judiciary must be allowed to function free of interference from those who feel that any judicial decision that doesn’t follow their personal moral dictates must be the result of activism, not reliance upon the rule of law.

Thank you for your time.

(I signed the e-mail, but won’t post my full name here, sorry.)

In other words, dear rep I don’t really care about the established law, I’d much rather it represent my poorly thought out opinion.

If the right impeached everyone they didn’t like, Obama would have been served at the Inagural Ball!

The AFA had no problem with the competence of Judge Walker when he found in favor of the Olympics.

I cannot imagine that congress would impeach walker over this. But I can see this scenario.

The hard right pushes a federal marriage amendment, which the repubs don’t much support. the hard right voters desert the repubs. Marijuana gets legalized and jerry Brown wins california. A lot of democrats win.

Then he democrats start showing some spine.

I made the last part up.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
