    I don’t know how many times I’ve heard about the “fact” that Tchaikovsky committed suicide. It is one of these unshakable urban legends that seems never to die. No matter that the evidence for it is essentially non-existent or that Tchaikovsky’s death by cholera has lots of evidence for it. Unless you believe in conspiracies in which case it was all part of the cover-up. Whatever.

    The whole death by suicide thing goes into the Tchaikovsky was gay so of course he committed suicide, after all that is what gay people do. (snark).
