Peter LaBarbera, whose sparsely attended press conference yesterday in front of the Human Rights Campaign headquarters (“the world’s most powerful homosexual lobby organization,” he calls it) but hidden away behind a temporary construction wall, “was a success,” so sez The Peter. I guess HRC agrees. They posted video of the event so you don’t have to miss it.

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. This story is a stark reminder that there are severe and damaging consequences when therapists try to ensure that boys will be boys.
When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. But that is exactly what happened. In this report, we review our collection of more than 500 posts to tell the story of one nation’s embrace of hatred toward gay people. This report will be updated continuously as events continue to unfold. Check here for the latest updates.
In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
On February 10, I attended an all-day “Love Won Out” ex-gay conference in Phoenix, put on by Focus on the Family and Exodus International. In this series of reports, I talk about what I learned there: the people who go to these conferences, the things that they hear, and what this all means for them, their families and for the rest of us.

Using the same research methods employed by most anti-gay political pressure groups, we examine the statistics and the case studies that dispel many of the myths about heterosexuality. Download your copy today!

Anti-gay activists often charge that gay men and women pose a threat to children. In this report, we explore the supposed connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse, the conclusions reached by the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, and how anti-gay activists continue to ignore their findings. This has tremendous consequences, not just for gay men and women, but more importantly for the safety of all our children.
Anti-gay activists often cite the “Dutch Study” to claim that gay unions last only about 1½ years and that the these men have an average of eight additional partners per year outside of their steady relationship. In this report, we will take you step by step into the study to see whether the claims are true.
Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council submitted an Amicus Brief to the Maryland Court of Appeals as that court prepared to consider the issue of gay marriage. We examine just one small section of that brief to reveal the junk science and fraudulent claims of the Family “Research” Council.
The FBI’s annual Hate Crime Statistics aren’t as complete as they ought to be, and their report for 2004 was no exception. In fact, their most recent report has quite a few glaring holes. Holes big enough for Daniel Fetty to fall through.

I love Eric Holmberg’s list of fallacies.
“…the idea that homosexuals are not attracted to straight people.”
What? Is this a common fallacy about homosexuals? There are definitely some straight people that I am attracted to. Ryan Gosling and Joseph Gordon Levitt to name a couple.

“Fake gay hate crimes” Peter? Really? Was Mark Carson in NYC killed with a fake bullet? Was my face smashed in by a fake brick in 2004?
Peter is right that no other sin having a parade. But the sin of adultery is celebrated every Saturday in “Christian” churches that remarry divorced peopled (and remember Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality, but clearly stated that divorce was not allowed). The sins of heresy and blasphemy are celebrated every Sunday in Mormon “temples” and other houses of worship dedicated to false religions.
As for the alleged thousands of “ex-gays” – well, there are literally millions of ex-Christians, such as myself, and we didn’t require any programs or therapies, just a willingness to question bullsh*t like that spewed at this event.

How many straight guys do you know who have literally built their lives around homosexuality? You have to admire Peter’s tireless dedication. Despite the countless hours spent thinking, dreaming, talking, and writing about homosexuality, he still manages to schedule quality-time among real live homosexuals, as he did at HRC this week. Peter, never one to think in stereotypes, has completely redefined what it means to be straight.

It’s still tickling me that one of the memes was “Gays are mean.”
As in, mean gay people stole Anita Bryant’s career from her 35-odd years ago, and HRC is still being mean to ex-gay people.
The Peter, besides being generally flummoxed while stumbling through reading his speech, seemed genuinely surprised that traditional media aren’t reporting, often and loudly, that the LGBT community is angry and vindictive.

@Richard Rush, I’m not sure if I know any straight guys who have literally built their lives around homosexuality.

The best part was watching the people holding the banner uncomfortably in the background. That little guy was clearly struggling. It was like something out of a Christopher Guest movie. Why did they feel the need to hold that banned the whole time, for the sake of the dozen people watching?

Ryan, I’m guessing that it was so they could cover up anything HRC had in their window – especially the “Welcome Peter” sign. If so, they did about as well as they do anything else they do.

Doesn’t it say something to these “supporters” and the “media” that showed up and saw the sparse attendance that their “cause” is lost?

The Reverend Louis Sheldon – a straight man who has built his life around homosexuality. He built a family business that has kept his wife, children and child’s spouse or two comfortably employed since 1977.
Porno Pete is a shrimp beside Rev. Lou.
However, Porno Pete giggles better than anyone when he sees gay porn.
